Eindhoven Library is the city’s living room. It’s the place for enrichment, gaining and sharing knowledge. For inspiration, meeting and relaxation. Eindhoven Library has three locations; in the ‘Witte Dame’ - once a Philips factory – , in the Shopping Centre Woensel and in Waalre.
The library in the ‘Witte Dame’ has a varied collection of English novels and thrillers. As a member of the library, you borrow your e-books and e-audiobooks via the BorrowBox app for free. The library has newspapers from all around the world for you to read or use PressReader, which gives you online access to more than 6,000 newspapers. The library has included the Reading Pier’s collection in the kids section.
Eindhoven Library is also a good place to learn Dutch. Get started with Dutch language study books or practice with ‘Leeslicht’: reading books in plain Dutch. If you like to learn Dutch by practicing it in conversation, then come along to the Language Cafe. Or become a library volunteer with the help of a personal buddy.
On each day of the week, the library organises activities, such as workshops. On each Saturday, children can join our ‘Makers Club’, the ultimate workplace. On each Wednesday, the library holds storytime in two languages! In the morning in English (read by the Reading Pier) and in the afternoon in Dutch.
